Abbotsford Ledgeview Golf Course Pavilion officially opens – Abbotsford News
The City of Abbotsford and Trans Mountain announced the opening of the new Ledgeview Golf Course lodge on Wednesday (September 29).
The new lodge is the result of a community benefits agreement signed in 2016 for a $ 1.3 million investment by Trans Mountain in the revitalization of the city-owned Ledgeview golf course.
The land was officially opened at the site in October 2019, the same year the project was finalized by the city council with a total budget of $ 6.8 million, of which $ 2.1 million came from the proceeds of the insurance from the 2016 fire that destroyed the original pavilion.
The project had taken some delays due to the uncertainty surrounding the construction of the pipeline.
Much of the Ledgeview Golf Course revitalization included a new pavilion. The clubhouse allows Ledgeview to host national competitions at the already recognized golf course, host charities and fundraising events and host weddings and special occasions.
The new Ledgeview pavilion will be in partnership with Joseph Richard Group.
The new clubhouse will also include a 225-seat banquet hall as well as a large outdoor seating area overlooking the golf course.
“We are pleased to support the revitalization of amenities at Ledgeview Golf Course, which will be of benefit to the residents of Abbotsford,” said Ian Anderson, President and CEO of Trans Mountain Corporation in a press release. “We are grateful to the City of Abbotsford for supporting our commitment to provide lasting benefits to its community.
Travis Oddy of Ledgeview said it was a big step in Ledgeview history.
“The Ledgeview Golf Club Society, our members, staff and the many golfers who frequent our facilities each year are very grateful for the strong partnerships that exist between our society, the City of Abbotsford and Trans Mountain,” he said. . “With the tragic fire that burned our clubhouse in April 2016 now behind us, we are approaching the 60th anniversary of our company and we are delighted to enter the new era of our great club in a brand new clubhouse. Our golf club is so rich in history that we look forward to building on the longstanding relationships we have with our community partners.
