I am an 18 handicap member of Els Club in Dubai but I frequent other clubs in UAE. Recently I arrived in Abu Dhabi and spent the night at the Westin directly on the course of the Abu Dhabi Golf Resort.

I had a pleasant stay and have to say that the Italian restaurant Sacci has, in my opinion, the best pizza in Abu Dhabi.

I have played on the Abu Dhabi Golf Club National Course several times, most notably with former Masters Champion Danny Willett in the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship Pro-Am.

My guest and I first played two balls from the first tee at 6:20 am on a hot and humid morning and we were back at the Falcon Clubhouse at 9:20 am which made for a great time thanks to a start early.

The condition of the golf course was good, the greens were good and the agronomy team are obviously all preparing for a busy coming season.

Unfortunately I found far too many bunkers on the golf course with my ball, but I have to give a compliment – all of the bunkers were very even in their sand texture unlike many other courses in the UAE.

At the end of the round I almost played with my handicap which is not bad for me.

I was impressed, especially at this time, to see such a large investment from the owner in the interior renovations of the clubhouse as well as in the patio expansion and other improvement plans that I have in mind. hear talk. I had a fun day with my guest at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club and can’t wait to go back soon.
