Bolton at home: Staff hit the golf course in aid of the Wanderers charity

Housing workers took to the golf course last week to help raise money for Bolton charities.

Bolton at Home staff raised £13,610 through their golf efforts last Friday, one of the hottest days of the year.

The funds will go to Bolton Wanderers in the Community, which supports work across the borough.

A Bolton at Home spokesperson said: ‘Our colleagues were able to participate because we had made a donation to Bolton Wanderers in the Community, a charity spin-off from BWFC which is doing great work in neighborhoods across the borough. .

“Fierce competition from 19 other teams meant that we weren’t able to come out on top this time, but we still finished with a respectable 71 points, down from a winning score of 83 points.

“In addition, a total of £13,610 has been raised for BWitC through the support of various teams, such as ours, and sponsorships.

“This will help the charity continue its mission of ‘using the power of Bolton Wanderers Football Club to inspire, support and effect positive change’.

“Through intervention, prevention and targeted engagement, the charity creates ‘sustainable pathways that transform lives’.

Themes for the Bolton Wanderers in the Community project include employability, active ageing, cohesion, well-being, and more.
