Cowgirl Golf Set to Open Spring Portion of Schedule

STILL WATER- Oklahoma State’s No. 2 women’s golf course is set to kick off the spring portion of its season at Rapsodo in the Desert at Superstition Mountain this weekend.

The eight-team tournament begins Sunday with 36 holes of action before wrapping up Monday with the final round of 18 holes at Lost Gold Golf Course.

Play is scheduled to start at noon CT Sunday with a stunt start and a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. CT Monday at par-72, 6,498 yards.

The Cowgirls will face Big 12 opponent Kansas, in addition to Arizona, Arizona State, Denver, Ole Miss and UCLA.

THE LAST TIME

  • No. 2 Oklahoma State won the prestigious East Lake Cup, 3-2-0 over Duke.
  • Rina Tatematsu won the individual East Lake Cup title, her second career individual victory as a Cowgirl.
  • Three Cowgirls finished in the top 10 and Maddison Hinson-Tolchard posted a career-best finish tied for second place.

THE COWGIRLS

  • Caley McGinty earned Big 12 Golfer of the Month honors for the month of September after winning an individual title at the Schooner Fall Classic. McGinty owns two individual titles as a Cowgirl.
  • In her nine tournament appearances as a Cowgirl in 2021, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard recorded four top-20 finishes, including 15 tiedand place in the NCAA Women’s Championship.
  • Isabel Fierro earned WGCA All-American honorable mention honors in 2021 after averaging 71.23 and earning seven top-10 finishes last season
  • Clemence Martin, from Paris, won the 2019 French Women’s Amateur Championship and went on to represent her country in the European Women’s Team Championship.
  • Hailey Jones recorded his first win in a collegiate tournament at the Dale McNamara Invitational during the fall portion of the schedule. In her seven tournament appearances as a Cowgirl, Jones has an average of 74.94 and a par of 3.28.
  • Lianna Bailey averaged 72.68 in the 2020-21 season, eighth-best in program history. She entered her senior season with 29 career rounds tied or better.
