Golf Course Night Run Gets Healthy Turnout

Over 250 fitness enthusiasts took part in the Nite Race organized by Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR) at Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The event saw families and fun-seekers compete for cash prizes worth up to RM500 while enjoying the cool evening breeze and panoramic views of the golf club at night.

The race catered to various ages and fitness levels with its fun 5K and 8K races in three categories.

TGCR chief executive Sharudin Kamarudin said the annual race, launched in 2010, was the first of its kind hosted by a golf club on a golf course.

“After two years, we are happy to revive this tradition as part of our core mission to redefine the art of healthy living.

“It is gratifying to see the strong community support for the event, right here at the TGCR where Tropicana’s journey began,” he said.

Beginning with an invigorating warm-up session at the Golf Wing, the race was greeted to cheers against the stunning backdrop of the sun setting over the greens.

Safety was a priority with security personnel present throughout the course to monitor runners and race conditions.

The winners of each category received medals.

All runners were also eligible for a raffle with attractive prizes up for grabs, including plane tickets to Vietnam as well as shopping and food vouchers.

Founded in 1992, TGCR is a subsidiary of Tropicana Corporation Bhd.
