Furman University Golf Club
Furman University Golf Club is a challenging, par 72 golf course that is widely recognized not only as the #1 public course in Greenville, but also the best public course in upstate. It underwent major renovations in 2008, which included rebuilding all 18 greens to USGA specifications for Champion Ultra-Dwarf Bermudagrass. Renovations also included new practice facilities for Furman golf teams, as well as improved public practice facilities, irrigation upgrades, clubhouse upgrades and new tees to accommodate golfers of all skills. The course stretches over 7,000 yards from the back tees and plays longer on the back nine than the front.

Format and schedule
The tournament will be a 54-hole competition, beginning with Saturday’s 36-hole shotgun tee. The last 18 holes will be played on Sunday with standard tee times. For the tournament, the course will play as a par-71 at a total distance of 7,005.

Last outing
High Point last competed at Carolina Collegiate in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Oct. 9-11. The Panthers finished 11e on 14 teams in the field, carding a par 898 from 24 over as a team. Alan Smith led the way for the Panthers, finishing with a par 217 to 1 and tied for 15e. Smith has now led the Panthers in points in three consecutive events.
