Men’s golf set to end the fall season

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men’s golf team will play its last tournament of the fall season on Monday and Tuesday (October 17-18) at the invitation of the TVA Community Credit Union.

Northern Alabama, Southern Indiana, Southeast Louisiana, IUPUI, Purdue Fort Wayne, Rollins, Lindenwood, Alabama A&M, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Eastern Illinois. Mississippi State will bring four people.

Range of behemoths

Kasey Lilly, Burke Pitz, Jadden Ousley, Nick Holder and Hunter Mefford will play for the Mastodons team score. Reece Compton will be the only individual this week for the ‘Dons.

Focused on the Feaganes
Purdue Fort Wayne’s team score of 860 at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Sept. 12-13 was the sixth-highest 54-hole score in program history.

A Lilly Litany

Kasey Lilly holds all major records in Purdue Fort Wayne men’s golf history. During his career, he also has 11 top-10s, seven top-5s and won two tournaments: the Tom Tontimonia Invitational and the Benbow Invitational.

Better and better
The 2022-23 men’s golf team has the best average in program history at 293.3. Last season’s Mastodons had the highest full-season rating in the program’s record books with an average of 294.2.

Last outing
The Mastodons took seventh place at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, shooting three rounds under 300. It was the Mastodons’ 10th, 11th and 12th rounds under 300 this season.

The Mastodons finished competing this fall and will return in February. Their first tournament is in Orlando, Florida at the Mickey Mouse Intercollegiate (February 19-21).
