New Christmas market in Hartlepool as town’s golf club gets into the festive spirit
The High Throston Golf Club will bring some more joy over two weekends in November and December with its first Christmas market.
Christmas decorations and music will serve as a backdrop for shoppers as they peruse several stalls of jewelry, baby clothes and candles, while enjoying pizza, coffee and cakes.
There will also be the opportunity to capture the moment and take Polaroid photos in front of a Christmas setting.
Manager of the Kelly Forcer Golf Club, which hosted the event with help from Phoebe Stainthorpe, said interest in the upcoming market was already high, with “over a hundred” people asking for s ‘they could reserve a place for their booth.
Kelly said: “It has been good, quite a few people have applied for the booths. We have over a hundred people asking to reserve a booth space.
“We have people who make jewelry, candles, we have Christmas items.
“We have people making Christmas gift calendars. There are quite a few stalls.
“We are looking forward to it.”
She added: “If this one goes well, I will do one regularly for different occasions, like summer vacation or Easter.”

Preparations for the event are already underway with the organization of Christmas decorations and music.
The market will be outside, but an indoor section, including a cafe, will also be available.
Kelly said she hopes the new market will help get people in the festive mood.
She said: “There aren’t a lot of Christmas markets in the northeast locally.
“It’s within walking distance of many parts of Hartlepool so they can come for a walk and have a few drinks. It’s a weekend so families can come.
“It’s a great sight, the gold course looks amazing by the minute.
“There are quite a few things to do and to get us in the Christmas mood, that was one of the main ideas.
“Let everyone in, have a good flavored coffee or a good hot chocolate, that would be great. “
The market will take place on Sunday November 28 and Saturday December 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Stall spots can be reserved by contacting High Thorston Golf Club on their Facebook page or sending an email [email protected]
