North Berwick Golf Club gets its own special beers

North Berwick Golf Club has announced a new partnership with St Andrews Brewing Company to deliver a limited edition lager and unique IPA to the club.

Both beers feature an iconic West Links hole on their cans, with a unique image embossed on it.

Elaine McBride, Club Manager at North Berwick Golf Club, was inspired when she visited the legendary US Open Merion course in Pennsylvania, which offered a similar product.

She said: “I remember seeing the can and thinking it was a great concept.

“We wanted to engage visitors and create something members would enjoy.

“Working with St Andrews Brewing Company was further cemented as they made a similarly branded lager for Old Tom Morris.”

The lager is called “Don’t argue with the wall!” in honor of one of the course’s most memorable features at the 13th hole.

The IPA is called “Perfection, Tee to Green”, showing the 14th green with Craigleith in the background.

Elaine said the choice of these images was extremely important, as they helped tell the story and character of the course.

She added: “We wanted to identify two holes on the golf course with images that help tell a story of the hole.”
