The North Texas Women’s Golf Team returns to the action with a trip to the inaugural Olde Stone Intercollegiate in Bowling Green, Ky., Where they will complete their fall program.

THE EVENT: Club At Olde Stone will play as a 72-yard par 72 course. The teams will play 54 holes over two days starting Monday with 36 holes and ending Tuesday, with the last 18 holes. Both days will start at 8:45 am, the shotgun starts.

FIELD: There are 14 teams participating in the tournament: Augusta State, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Marshall, Memphis, Morehead State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, North Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Western Kentucky.

UNT REPRESENTATIVE: The competition for the Mean Green will be Emilie Ricaud, Audrey Tan, Katie Finley, Ellie Roth and Marija Jucmane.

LAST TIME : UNT finished 12th at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma, and the Mean Green was led by Katie Finley, who tied for 15th.

AMOUNT : North Texas has made significant progress since head coach Michael Akers took over about five years ago. Mean Green was ranked # 201 after the 2015-16 season, and since Akers arrived in Denton, UNT has climbed over 150 spots since that time. The Mean Green finished 36th last season.

THE GOAT: Lauren cox, who graduated in the spring to end her brilliant five-year career with Mean Green, progressed into the LPGA Q-School and achieved at least partial status on the Symetra Tour for the 2022 season, and she is currently a part of staff as assistant coach.

AKERS SAYS: “We are delighted to come to Kentucky and play an incredible course for Olde Stone,” UNT coach Michael akers noted. “We focused on links style golf and spent more time practicing the bunkers.
