Puttstars mini golf set to open in York with three courses plus restaurant and bar

A new £2.5million mini-golf attraction is set to open at York Stadium.

Puttstars will open its doors on Monday, August 17 and promises a revisited mini-golf thanks to three interactive and fun nine-hole courses.

The days of pencil and paper scoring are over – at Puttstars scores are calculated digitally using high-tech screens at each hole, which are then carefully cleaned after each group has used them.

In addition to mini-golf, guests can enjoy a range of food and drink, including pizzas, hot dogs, and shakes, all available at the bar and restaurant. The center also has an amusement area.

Nathan Barwick, Center Manager, said: “We are delighted to open Puttstars’ third UK venue as part of the New York Stadium development.

“Puttstars will bring a unique mini golf gaming experience for families and groups of friends and we look forward to welcoming them to our doorstep.”

As for safety, the center has implemented extensive cleaning and social distancing measures.

Game reservation slots will be appropriately limited to control capacity, and amusement machines, as well as bar and restaurant seating, will be spaced out, with signage visible throughout the venue.

Customers are encouraged to pre-book their mini-golf pitch and groups will be limited to a maximum of six people.

Customers will also have the option of wearing disposable gloves.

Upon entering the center, customers will be required to use hand sanitizer, which will be readily available at dispensers.

Reinforced cleaning will take place throughout the day, including cleaning of putters, balls and touchscreens between games.

Customers can now make reservations through puttstars.co.uk, with mini golf slots available from August 17.

The opening of the venue will also create 25 new jobs, ranging from members of the bar and kitchen team to management positions.
