Sycamore golf set for Diane Daugherty Invitational Monday and Tuesday
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State women’s golf team is scheduled to travel to St. Charles, Mo. for the Diane Daugherty Invitational, hosted by Missouri Valley Conference member Southern Illinois Monday and Tuesday at Bogey Hills Country Club by 71.
Play begins Monday morning with a shotgun blast at 9:30 a.m. ET for the first two rounds (36 holes). The tournament ends Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the kick-off of the final round (18 holes). Live results will be available throughout the tournament by clicking HERE.
The tournament will serve as a preview for the MVC Championship, with nine of the Valley’s 10 teams in the 16-team field. Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Creighton, Omaha, South Dakota and West Michigan also join the Sycamores on the court.
Indiana State (323-312-318=953) just finished 11th last week at Nevel Meade Collegiate. Kristen Hobbs led the Sycamores with a total of 236 over three rounds to finish tied for 26th. Lawrence Green finished one shot behind Hobbs over 54 holes, shooting 237, including 77 (+5) on Tuesday to finish tied for 29th.
Among MVC enemies, Green ranks 11th with an average score of 75.53 while Hobbs completes the Top 25 with an average of 77.84. ISU as a team ranks sixth in the MVC with a combined average of 310.32, ahead of UNI, SIU, UE and Valpo.
About Diane Daugherty
Diane Daugherty (1986-2011) was a three-time Conference Coach of the Year who won five conference championships (1988, 1990, 1998, 2000, 2007). His teams also earned five second-place finishes in the conference tournament. She has coached three individual titles, 21 All-American Academics, and won 10 tournament titles. Daugherty was also named to the MVC’s All-Centennial Team Coaching Wing and is a Saluki Hall of Famer.

Bogey Hills Golf Course was originally designed by Wayne Clark in the early 1900s and then redesigned by CH Walters and Dennis Walters in the 1970s. Over the years, under the Walters’ management, the course has evolved to improve shooting values, conditions and playability. Featuring five sets of tees, Bogey Hills is enjoyed by players of all skill levels, from juniors to tour pros. The course itself is made up of Zoysia fairways which extend before the bentgrass greens.
