The men’s golf set will welcome guest Earl Yestingsmeier this weekend
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State Men’s Golf program brings its annual fall home tournament, the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, on Friday September 17 and Saturday September 18 at the Delaware Country Club.
While the Cardinals host many events that honor their former coach and late legendary player Earl Yestingsmeier (1933-2014), this is the first time since the 2012 season that the Ball State Men’s Golf Team has hosted this event. annual during the fall.
The following 13 teams will be represented Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, Eastern Kentucky, IUPUI, Loyola, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, Taylor and Wright State.
The 54-hole tournament will be played over two days on the par-70 at Delaware Country Club in a four-to-five team format. The first 36 holes are scheduled for Friday with a continuous shooting game at 9 a.m., with the last 18 scheduled for a split tee at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The five-player roster of the Cardinals will be Joey ranieri, Evan bone, Colin Nasser, Joey wiseman and Ali Khan. Individual participants for Ball State are Kash Bellar, Griffon Hare, Carson Orr and Drew todd
Ball State Head Coach Mike Fleck, who is in his 24th season at the helm of the Cardinals, has won the EY invitational tournament six times, most recently in 2011. The Cardinals have held the tournament on and off since the 1974-75 season. It was previously known as the Ball State Invitational, the event was later renamed in honor of Yestingsmeier from the 2001-02 season.
