Tipperary Golf: Busy week at Slievenamon Golf Club as Mary says goodbye

The Heffernan Gang left to right – Danny Heffernan (Champion), Ber Heffernan, Paul Heffernan, Glen Heffernan, Kieran Heffernan, Glen Heffernan and Honorary Heffernan Bobby Cullagh
We’ll have to start the draw for Monday’s Mixed Scramble contest, it’s become so popular! Or at the very least, we’ll have to buy an extra abacus for John O’Sullivan, because the poor fellow is exhausted from all the mathematical gymnastics he does to sort out his teams!
This week saw an impressive number of participants on the course and fiercer competition than ever. Mark Dillon, Pauline Lucey and Marian Power on 32.8, Herbie Buck, Billy Judge and Laois Power took 2nd place on 44 while our own Paul Kenny, Patrick Moloney and Kathleen Shanley came in 3rd on 34.1.
Dan is the man as the Heffernans invade Slievenamon
Saturday saw an invasion of the Heffernan clan from Kildare for the annual Heffernan golf tournament. Coming from Dublin, Kildare and in one case from London they drove through torrential rain and were amazed to see the clouds parting and the sun blazing as they rounded the corner from Dooks to Fethard .
A great day of fun was enjoyed by all, with Danny Heffernan winning the coveted Heffernan Trophy!
