In his first year with the Trojans, Higgins guided USC through the shortened spring 2021 season to a spot in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.

The squad
The four returning Trojans include seniors Cameron Henry, junior Tyler guo and second year students Shane FFrench and Krando Nishiba.

USC has 7 newcomers, including 3 real freshmen and 4 transfers (one of which is a freshman in a red shirt who didn’t play last year).

New septet features real freshmen Gavin Aurilia, Jackson rivera and Junyi Tang. All four USC transfers are fifth-year seniors Alex ross (Davidson), elder Jack Boulger (Connecticut), junior Parker Sisk (San Jose State) and rookie redshirt Parker Rostowsky (Georgia).

Trojans talking points
Shane FFrench was the only Trojan horse to start and play in USC’s nine tournaments last season. He was a member of the 2021 All-Pac-12 newcomer squad and is Troy’s top returner in 2021 in average strokes (72.68), par or better rounds (12) and under rounds. normal (new).

The only returning senior from USC is Cameron Henry. As a 2021 junior, he was a starter seven times for the Trojans who finished with an average of 73.68 strokes, seven par rounds or better, two in the top 16 and three in the top 26. His season was marked by a tie for 10th. at the Amer Ari Invitational at 5 under 211 (70-72-69), his last best lap of the season.

Second year Krando Nishiba saw action in two events in sophomore, both begin.

First-year student Gavin Aurilia graduated from Arcadia (Arizona) High where he won the 2019 Division II State Championship at 6-under 140 while leading his team to third place in the state as a No.2 player classified in the state. Aurilia claimed a dominant victory at the 2021 IMG World Junior Championship in the 15-18 division, posting a 4-stroke victory over Torrey Pines with a score of 3 under 281 (72-71-66-72), taking control of the tournament with a third round under 5. He is the son of longtime Major League Baseball player Rich Aurilia.

First-year student Jackson rivera Graduated from Torrey Pines High in San Diego, where he was a four-time Rolex All-American. He became the # 2 ranked junior golfer in California in 2020 and was ranked first by AJGA. Rivera qualified for the 2021 US Amateur and he won the 2020 Rancho Santa Margarita Amateur. In 2018, Rivera represented the United States at the biennial The Junior Open Championship on the Eden course in St. Andrews and has played for the West team at the Wyndham Cup.

First-year student Junyi Tang, originally from Beijing, has extensive professional and amateur tournament experience, including competing in the prestigious Sina Cup in 2020. He has competed in four PGA Tour China events, most recently finishing third in the PGA Tour Qualifying School China 2020. get full exemption status. He was the low amateur at the 2019 Haikou Open (36th), made the cut at the 2018 Zhuhai Open and was the qualifying medalist at the Huangshan Open.

Fifth year senior Alex ross is an Atlantic 10 All-Star first team player who helped Davidson College win two league championships for four years with the Wildcats. He has already shot a competitive round of 15 under 57. Ross has played in 35 career rounds for the Wildcats and has been a key part of the 10th Atlantic Conference titles in 2018 and 2021, helping the Wildcats to their first two regional NCAA championship appearances in both seasons.

Senior transfer Jack Boulger of Connecticut played three seasons for the Huskies, appearing in 19 career tournaments between 2018-2020 with 13 career par rounds or better, two rounds in the 60s and seven career top 30s. He did not compete collegially in the 2020-21 season.

Parker Sisk, a junior transfer from San Jose State, brings a wealth of Division I experience to USC. Sisk competed for San Jose State in 2019 and 2020, playing in 10 tournaments combined. In his sophomore year of 2020, Sisk was a Srixon / Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar. He competed in six events and finished fifth on the team with an average of 73.22 strokes, including five rounds in the 1960s.

Parker Rostowsky is a 2022 red shirt freshman transfer from Georgia who hasn’t seen the action like a true freshman with the Bulldogs. He graduated from Mount Paran High in Atlanta, where he was the 2018 Class A Golfer of the Year. Selected three times by All States, he has won once State Medalist honors and twice honors from the region. He was Cobb County Male Athlete of the Year and Golfer of the Year in 2018 and won seven individual high school tournaments. He was also the kicker for the Mount Paran football team, earning an Honorable Mention of All State Honors while also being named twice to All Region and All County Grill Teams.
