Women’s golf set for the final fall event in Grandover

GREENSBORO, NC – The Marshall Women’s Golf Team is back on the road for their final tournament of the fall 2021 season, Monday and Tuesday, at the Grandover Fall Classic. The event is organized by UNC Greensboro.
The tournament is scheduled to be played at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center on the East Course. It is a par-72 with a total distance of 6,155 meters. Monday begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 am, and the teams will play two rounds. The third and final round is set for Tuesday. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.
The competition for Marshall will be a graduate student Stormy Randazzo, the elderly Jackie schmidt and Torren Kalaskey, junior Makena rauch and first year student Emily mclatchey. Herd golfers will start on holes 12-15. Rauch led Marshall in his last tournament, the Olde Stone Intercollegiate, after scoring a par 72 tied in the final round.
The Herd is one of 12 teams participating in the event. Along with the host UNCG, other programs are Delaware State, Evansville, Eastern Tennessee State, High Point, Lander University, North Carolina A&T, Longwood, Towson, South Dakota, William & Mary. Wake Forest, ranked 7th, has three people who will play but not compete as a team. ETSU is ranked # 47 in the GolfStat ranking and Lander University is # 31 in Division II.
The Grandover Fall Classic is the fifth tournament for Marshall this fall. The Herd has performed at the William & Mary Fall Invitational (September 12-13), Pirate Collegiate Classic (September 20-21), Butler Fall Invitational (October 4-5) and Olde Stone Intercollegiate (Oct. 25- 26). Marshall’s best result so far this fall was fourth place at the Pirate Collegiate Classic.
