Women’s Golf Set for USA Conference Championships

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida – The Marshall Women’s Golf Team is back on the course for the U.S. Conference Championships, April 18-20, at the PGA National Resort.

The event will be played on the championship course which is a par-72, with a total yardage of 6,154. Teams play an 18-hole round each day, Monday through Wednesday. Monday tee times begin at 7:50 a.m. on the first and 10th holes. Live scoring is provided by GolfStat.com.

Competing for the Thundering Herd will be a fifth-year senior Stormy Randazzo, Senior Jackie Schmidt, junior Makena Rauch, and freshmen Emily McLatchey and Katie Potter. Marshall will start the first round on the back-nine. Potter will be the first Herd player to tee off at 7:50 a.m. She will be followed by McLatchey (8:00 a.m.), Rauch (8:10 a.m.), Schmidt (8:20 a.m.) and Randazzo (8:30 a.m.).

The Herd are tied for sixth place at the Colonel Classic, April 4-5, to end the regular season. Randazzo had a great performance shooting a 74 in the second and third rounds to finish tied for 11th, leading the team. Schmidt bounced back from a rocky start to shoot a 1 of 73 in round three and jump all the way to 25th.

Marshall is one of 12 teams competing, including four programs ranked in GolfStat’s Top 100. The other teams are (#100) Old Dominion, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss, (#44) North Texas, (#49) UTSA, (#74) Charlotte, UTEP, UAB, Florida Atlantic, WKU and CRF .

North Texas is the defending C-USA champion. Randazzo led Marshall to the 2021 Championships finishing 29th. She scored a 1 of 73 in the second round.
