Women’s golf set to co-host the Silverado Showdown
ROCK – The University of Colorado Women’s Golf Team will co-host the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif. April 5-7 with the University of Oregon.
The tournament will take place on the 6,192 yard, par 72 north course at Silverado Resort and Spa, which is in the same location as the PGA Safeway Open.
Including the Buffs, there will be 14 teams competing at the tournament, including several other Pac-12 Conference programs. Arizona State, California, Iowa State, Northwest, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, UNLV and USC will join CU in Napa.
The tournament will be played over three days, with 18 holes each day. The competition will start Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. PDT on 1st and 10e tees, while Wednesday’s action kicks off with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. PDT. Live stats will be available on GolfStat.com and results will be posted on CUBuffs.com after the end of each round.
Colorado has just completed its best tournament of the spring, having recorded three of its six best laps of the season at the Bruzzy. The Buffs shot their second fastest lap of the year, a 4 of 292 in the second game round, while they also recorded their fifth fastest lap (296) and sixth fastest lap (297) to finish with an 885. .
Junior Malak Boureada tied for 15e at the event, shooting a 217, while he was a senior Kirsty hodgkins tied for 22sd with a 219. The duo have been a very solid pair for the Buffs. Bouraeda leads CU with an average of 74.00 strokes, while Hodgkins is slightly behind her at 74.20. They are only separated by three strokes before this tournament.
This is the last regular season event for the Buffaloes before the Pac-12 Championships, April 23-25, in Stanford, Calif.
